Cut Me Loose

Like bumping into an ex lover

Reminding me of time gone by

He looks so good in my old leather

But it’s getting easier with time

I gave you everything I had

Took off my clothes, dove right in

Sinking in a sequin gown

You watched me from the shallow end

I wish I had some self control

A little bit’s just not enough

Stupid me, to place my bets

On queens and fiends and boys with drugs

You saw me in the morning once

Found me in a crowd of one

Dancing ‘round in all my glory

Bloodshot eyes, red like the sun

That summer I was almost famous

I loved you like a dream come true

We went too far but who could blame us?

And in the end you cut me loose
